PATERSON, NJ - The winners of the Paterson Poetry Festival's Youth Poetry Contest have been announced and will be celebrated at the festival on Saturday.

The festival will be held in Hamilton Plaza, 77 Hamilton Street, from 10:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m.

The poets performing at the festival, the Festival's organizer Talena Lachelle Queen told TAPinto Paterson, are “educators, authors, artists, performers, champions, laureates, and passionate people.”

“To put it simply, they are the best at what they do. I am awed by the talent that has been curated for this event.”

“When I was a young writer here I didn't get to experience events that were intended for my particular talent. As the city's first Poet Laureate, I hope to change that reality,” Queen said. “Writers are coming from all over the state and we are working hard to make the day a success.”
