PATERSON, NJ - Three Paterson supermarkets are opening their doors exclusively to senior citizens during designated hours three days a week. The initiative, Mayor Andre Sayegh announced on a Facebook video last week, comes in response to continued efforts to curb the spread of COVID-19, coronavirus.

Golden Mango, 200 Broadway, and Universal Paterson will offer the exclusive shopping access from 8:00 a.m. until 9:00 a.m. Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, while CTown, 444 20th Avenue, will open their doors to senior citizens only 7:00 a.m. until 8:00 a.m. on the same days.

“We are prepared, and we are taking this seriously,” Ravi, the owner of Golden Mango said. “We will do what we can to stop this in paterson”

Sayegh also used the video as an opportunity to remind residents of the restrictions that have been established to business operations and offered assurances to impacted small businesses that “there will be relief,” when this is over.

“We’re going to win this war, we’re in this fight together,” Sayegh said. “We’re going to win this fight together.”
