PATERSON, NJ – City residents will have the chance to celebrate National Night Out on Tuesday with dozens of separate events being hosted by community groups and local leaders throughout the city.
Now in its 36th year, National Night Out is, according to the National Association of Town Watch, “a community-building campaign that promotes police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie to make our neighborhoods safer, more caring places to live.”
“A successful community policing program means building meaningful relationships,” Paterson Police Deputy Chief Lourdes Phelan told TAPinto Paterson. “National Night Out gives our offices another chance to interact with residents of all ages and backgrounds in a positive and fun way.”
