PATERSON, NJ- Efforts to clean up Paterson’s Downtown are “noticeable” Councilman Michael Jackson said at Tuesday’s City’s Council meeting in response to a brief presentation by Orlando Cruz.
Cruz was appointed to serve as District Manager of the Downtown Special Improvement District (SID) and began in the position on January 2.
In partnership with Commercial District Services LLC (CDS), Cruz and the Downtown SID have placed a renewed focus on safety, cleanliness, beautification to help attract more visitors to local businesses.
“300,000 people visited the Great Falls last year,” Cruz said. “There’s no reason they shouldn’t filter into the Downtown.”
Included in changes already visible, Cruz offered, are repainted light polls, graffiti removal from utility boxes, and cleaned up planters that too often serve as trash receptacles.
