TRENTON, NJ - New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy used part of his daily press briefing Friday to “give a huge shout out” to administrators, educators, staff, and volunteers for the Paterson Public Schools for their efforts to “help provide for the greater needs of their students and families,” since the COVID-19 pandemic began March.

In addition to conducting classes remotely, Murphy noted, more than one million student meals have been distributed since schools closed on March 17.

“Our educators and support staff are integral parts of their communities, and there is no greater example of their commitment than in Paterson,” Murphy said, extending a special thank you to Assemblyman Benjie Wimberly for letting his office know of the milestone.
