PATERSON, NJ – In continued efforts to ease the transition from school to home-based learning, and to make sure Paterson Public School’s students stay well-fed during the COVID-19, coronavirus related closures, a new meal distribution plan will begin on Wednesday, district officials announced.

Additionally, a new roster of sites will be used for meal pick-ups starting on Monday, March 30.

Starting on Wednesday, parents and guardians will pick up student meals twice a week. On Wednesday, they will pick up enough student meals for three days (Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday). On Monday they will pick up  enough student meals for two days (Monday and Tuesday). The sites will continue to be open on Mondays and Wednesday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. until further notice.

“All of the new distribution sites are district schools, which makes it convenient for parents and guardians to obtain meals for their children as well as any instructional packets they request or materials we may need to disseminate in the coming days,” Superintendent of Schools Eileen Shafer said before adding her thanks to everyone that helped launch the program last week, as well as the hundreds of volunteers, including her administrative team, the Facilities Department, the Food Services Department who have been helped distribute meals in the past days.

Public School No. 12, 121 North Second Street

 

In Ward 2:

Public School No. 7, 106 Ramsey Street

Public School No. 19, 31 James Street

 

In Ward 3:

Public School No. 20, 500 East 37th Street

STARS Academy, 765 14th Avenue

Paterson Riverside Veterans Recreation Center, 161 Fifth Avenue.

 

In Ward 4:

Public School No. 21, 322 10th Avenue

St. Luke Baptist Church, 139 Carroll Street

 

In Ward 5:

The Full Service Community Center, 518 Market Street

The Great Falls Academy (GFA) Program at Public School No. 11, 350 Market Street

Temple Shalom, 586 Main Street

 

In Ward 6:

Martin Luther King, Jr. Education Complex, 851 East 28th Street

Public School No. 9, 6 Timothy Street
