PATERSON, NJ  – Three Paterson Public Schools employees and one students have tested positive for COVID-19, coronavirus, District officials announced Wednesday.

All of the cases of positive tests were confirmed after schools closed on Tuesday, March 17th, a statement read.

One of the employees is an instructional assistant at the Rosa L. Parks School of Fine and Performing Arts. The other two employees are teachers at the Great Falls Academy at Public School No. 11. The student attends the School of Business, Technology, Marketing and Finance at the John F. Kennedy Educational Complex.

In an automated message Superintendent Eileen Shafer said that the District is “being governed by the Paterson Department of Health and Human Services and the New Jersey Department of Health” and are following their directives. 

“Our prayers are with the members of our district family who are fighting this virus. God bless all of you as we continue taking all of the proper precautions and moving forward together in these most unusual circumstances.”
