PATERSON, NJ - A local businessman is honoring his late father’s memory by seeking to raise $5,000 which will be used to purchase and donate food to the Father English Food Pantry.

According to a GoFundMe page he set up, Jason Werner will match every dollar raised, up to $5,000.

Saying that his father, Harold Werner, was the most kind and generous man he ever knew, the younger Werner added that He was “beyond lucky to have had him as a role model and even more so as a father.”

”He would go out of his way to help others, regardless of the situation,” Werner said of his father. “I live my life everyday to be half the man he ever was. This is one small way I can move toward that goal. A goal I know that would have made him proud.”

In addition to making monetary contributions, Werner said, the drive is also accepting food donationes at his office and recruiting volunteers to assist in local area pantries and soup kitchens three days next week.
