PATERSON, NJ- For the second weekend in a row members of the Paterson Fire Department will be out in intersections across the city on Friday and Saturday, collecting donations as part of their annual boot drive. Funds raised through the effort are used to purchase and donate toys to both local children in need and non-profit organizations holding their own toy drive efforts.
Paterson's Bravest will be out from 8:30 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. in several locations including Madison and Market, Getty and Crooks, and McBride and Glover.
"Our boot drive is an annual tradition that allows us to make Christmas brighter for thousands of children across Paterson," Kyle Hughes, president, FMBA Local 2, told TAPinto Paterson. "The generosity of our residents means that when families come calling to us, one of our local elected officials, or one of the many organizations we work alongside, our firefighters can make sure the presents get under the tree!"
Editor's Note: The owner of TAPinto Paterson is also a consultant to FMBA Local 2.
