PATERSON, NJ - Just days after joining Mayor Andre Sayegh and 6th Ward Councilman Al Abdelaziz in donating and distributing hundreds of personal care packages to senior citizen community complexes, local business MP Plastic was again showing their generosity, this time in partnership with Councilwoman-at-Large Dr. Lilisa Mimms.
On Thursday, Mimms and company officials distributed 100 cases of water across the city, including 30 cases to city first responders, 20 cases to the St. Joseph’s Health Emergency Department, and 10 cases each to the Department of Public Works, Grandparents Relative Care Senior Resource Center and the Youth Consultant Services group home.
"Growing up in this community, and operating a long-time family-run business in the community, we know how critical it is to give back to our neighbors and customers during times of crisis", Aiman Muheisen said earlier in the week, while Dr. Wael Muheisen added that during this difficult time “those who are capable of helping their communities have a responsibility to do so, and no one should have to go without basic necessities.”
Mimms said it was an honor to work with MP Plastics in delivering water to local first responders and residents. “What impacts one of us impacts us all,” Mimms told TAPinto Paterson. Recognizing the gravity of the “crisis” COVID-19 has brought Mimms shared her confidence that “we will get through this together.”
