PATERSON, NJ - Paterson City Council Vice President Lilisa Mimms is an avowed subscriber to the philosophy that one should get their flowers when they can still smell them. Or, put another way, those who deserve recognition today should get it today.

It was with that in mind that Mimms, along with former 2nd Ward Councilman Gilman Choudhury, set about establishing the city’s first Employee Recognition Program.

In a statement following Mimms’ introduction of the program, she noted that during her time on the City’s legislative body she had “encountered many employees who have served the City of Paterson well but are seldom recognized for their great efforts.”
