Dear Readers & Friends:
I am sure by now you have learned of the passing of U.S. Congressman John Lewis. This is without question a tremendous loss to civil rights and to democracy. Congressman Lewis was one of the last true voices of liberation, freedom and socioeconomic justice in the land.
Not only was a powerful lawmaker, he was a gentle giant. A real mover and shaker whose presence altered the course of history. With each peaceful demonstration he led, with each word he spoke, he made a lasting impression on the whole world.
He will be sorely missed and praised forever. His contributions to society, in particular, African American culture, will not soon be forgotten. His love and passion for the people will stand to be one of his hallmarks.
In truth, a living legend has departed. A warrior for peace and made his peaceful transition. A righteous solider has laid down his weapons and return home to claim his eternal and just reward.
May the life and legacy of Congressman Lewis continue to live on in the hearts and minds of all who knew and loved him.
