PATERSON, NJ - An anonymous tip to a member of the Passaic County Sheriff’s Office led the arrest of an alleged drug dealer in the early hours of Monday, according to Passaic County Sheriff Richard H. Berdnik.

In a statement Berdnik announced that PCSO Officer Angelo Calabro received the tip at approximately 1:50 a.m. directing him to the area of Summer Street and Hamilton Avenue.

There, he was told, he’d find Avery Young, 36, holding a clear bag that contained cocaine and heroin. Upon arrival at the scene Calabro found a man matching Young’s description  who discarded a clear bag near a garbage can and began walking the opposite way when he noticed officers walking towards him.
