PATERSON, NJ - A 20-year-old Hackensack was arrested on Saturday in connection with one of three shootings, two in the same area, that took place just hours apart earlier in the day.

According to Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes and Paterson Police Chief Troy Oswald, Nazir Carter has been charged with several crimes included Attempted Murder and Unlawful Possession of a Handgun, that could put him behind bars for up to 20 years.

The incident in which Carter was allegedly involved took place in the area of Summer Street and Godwin Ave. As previously reported, members of the Paterson Police Department were already in the area when they hear gunfire near them at approximately 4:44 a.m., and, upon immediate investigation, located a 23-year-old Paterson man suffering from a non-fatal gunshot wound.
