PATERSON, NJ - A 21-year-old Paterson man was arrested Monday in connection to the homicide that took place on outside 225 Summer Street on April 25
According to Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes and Paterson Police Chief Ibrahim Baycora, Kamar Isom, is charged with Murder, Possession of a Weapon for an Unlawful Purpose, Unlawful Possession of a Weapon, and Certain Persons not to have Firearms.
The statement noted that according to an investigation Isom and his victim, Raaseon Adams, 45, engaged in a verbal argument which escalated into a physical altercation on the day before the shooting. The next day, Isom is said to have approached the victim in front of his home and shot him in the head and neck at close range.
As previously reported, on the day of the incident members of the Paterson Police Department were dispatched to the area of Summer Street and Hamilton Avenue in response to a report of a shooting. Upon their arrival, officers located Adams lying on the sidewalk in front of his home at 225 Summer Street with apparent gunshot wounds. Adams was immediately transported to St. Joseph’s University Medical Center where he was pronounced deceased at approximately 7:10 p.m.
