PATERSON, NJ - A 26-year-old New York man, said to already be known to law enforcement, was arrested Monday by members of the Passaic County Sheriff’s Office.

According to Sheriff Richard H. Berdnik officers were patrolling the area of Godwin Avenue and Straight Street at approximately 11:03 a.m. when they spotted Denis Gordiyenko, wanted on a Passaic County Superior Court Warrant for 3rd Degree Drug Possession.

The report states that the suspect crouched down on the side of a parked black Infiniti “in an attempt to avoid being seen as the detectives drove down the street.” After stepping out of their vehicles and conducting a warrant investigation the detectives handcuffed and searched Gordiyenko. The search, detetives said, yielded 30 glassines of heroin stamped “Lean on Me.”
