NEWARK, NJ – A 37-year-old Paterson faces 20 years in prison after being arrested and charged Wednesday in connection with the February 27 robbery of the Valley National Bank in Little Falls, U.S. Attorney Craig Carpenito announced.
According to reports Ortiz is said to be one of two suspects that entered Valley National Bank in Little Falls on the day of the incident and rob it at gunpoint. After brandishing a black and silver handgun the suspects forced bank employees to open the vault at gunpoint and retrieved cash from it before fleeing through the back door, the report said.
Ortiz, court documents show, was identified as the owner of the car that was allegedly used as getaway vehicles and his phone was identified as being in the area of Valley National Bank on the day of the robbery.
