PATERSON, NJ – Following approximately four days of deliberations, a jury has found Courtney Simpson, 34, Paterson, guilty on several counts including first degree Aggravated Manslaughter, second degree Unlawful Possession of a Weapon, and second degree Possession of a Weapon for an Unlawful Purpose. 

Simpson, who has been remanded in the Passaic County Jail, is due to be sentenced on December 8 and faces up to thirty years in New Jersey State Prison.

According to a statement released by the Passaic County Prosecutor’s Office, the verdict stems from an incident on February 22, 2014, in which Simpson shot and killed Ferron Green after a verbal altercation in the area of Ellison St. and East 18th St. Simpson was later located and arrested in December 2014 in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
