NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ - A Paterson woman will spend up to 10 years behind bars after pleading guilty in a Middlesex County courtroom on December 23 to second degree vehicular homicide and driving while intoxicated.

As previously reported, Elizabeth Gomez, 43, was behind the wheel of a 2007 BMW X3 in North Brunswick on September 22, 2018 when the crash occurred.

Intoxicated, Gomez ran a red light and crashed into a 2016 Chevrolet Malibu causing the death of Wen-Fu Lin, 80, of East Brunswick and injuring a 47-year old male passenger.

In addition to the prison sentence Gomez will be subject to a loss of license upon her release from prison ranging from five years to life.

Sentencing is scheduled for March 4.
