PATERSON, NJ - Praising the joint efforts of the Paterson Police Department’s Narcotics Division, Community Stabilization Unit, ABC/Vice Task Force, and Paterson Fire Department Fire Inspectors, Police Director Jerry Speziale announced that two unannounced inspections took place on establishments that have long drawn the ire of neighbors in the early hours of Sunday.

The first visit was to Doctors Cave, 245-247 Grand Street at approximately 1:00 a.m. and the second to Silk City Gentlemen’s Club, 10 First Avenue, at approximately 2:45 a.m.

Upon entry into Doctors Cave, the site of a shooting last month, Speziale said, police and fire officials detected the strong odor of marijuana and found 16 lit hookahs. $1914 and 49 hookahs were seized and a total of 5 violations were filed on the location that has regularly generated quality of life complaints for fights, loud music, and traffic conditions caused by the establishment.

While no cash was seized at Silk City Gentlemen’s Club, a total of 27 hookahs were taken from the premises and three complaints were filed.
