PATERSON, NJ - A Prospect Park man was arrested in Paterson early Sunday after he was found to be in possession of a loaded handgun.

According to Sheriff Richard H Berdnik, PCSO Officer Joseph Federico was conducting an extra attention detail of North Main Street where he observed an individual, later identified as Willie Evans, standing in the middle of the intersection of North Main Street and Clinton Street.

As Officer Federico approached Evans, the reports said, the suspect “quickly turned away holding the outside of his left jacket pocket and began to walk away at an accelerated pace.”
