Local Police Deploy 'Opioid Blocker' Naloxone Twice This Week

PASSAIC VALLEY, N.J. - Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes announced that local police administered Naloxone to two individuals earlier this week.

Naloxone is a medicine administered by way of a spray into the subject’s nostrils to counteract an opioid overdose.

Shooting on Godwin Avenue prompts lockdown at Paterson School

PATERSON, N.J. - A Paterson man is dead, and another is in critical condition, after a shooting that prompted the lockdown Friday of Frank Lautenberg Elementary School (formerly School #6) on Godwin Avenue, in Paterson.

Jury deadlocked, Mistrial declared in Genesis Rincon murder case

PATERSON, N.J.- After a jury twice in two days told the judge in the Genesis Rincon murder case that it was "deadlocked", a mistrial was declared Friday.

While riding on her scooter Genesis Rincon was shot and killed by a stray bullet on the evening of July 5 2014 in her neighborhood near Rosa Parks Boulevard. She died hours later. Rincon was 12 years old.

Fire on 23rd Avenue in Paterson Displaces Nine

PATERSON, N.J. - A single-alarm fire ripped through a 23rd Avenue house early Monday evening according to deputy fire chief Pablo Del Valle.

The fire started on the second floor and the fire department worked on the fire for about a half hour before extinguishing the blaze around 7:15pm.

The fire has displaced 9 people, and they are currently being assisted by the American Red Cross.
