PATERSON, NJ - Local officials joined with proud family members on Friday as 13 recruits began their journey to becoming Paterson police officers. The group, 16 men and three women, are now set to enter the Bergen County Police Academy for what Public Safety Director Jerry Speziale has told previous classes will be the hardest six months of their lives.
“Each of the recruits is already a credit to our community for getting this far and for their commitment to making Paterson an even stronger city,” Mayor Andre Sayegh told TAPinto Paterson. “Their next six months will be grueling, but at the end they will have the honor of saying they are members of the Paterson Police Department.”
