PATERSON, NJ - An investigation is underway into an afternoon shooting that sent a 23-year-old Paterson man to the hospital.

According to Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes and Paterson Police Chief Troy Oswald, the incident took place at approximately 1:00 p.m. on Paterson Avenue.

Responding to a report of shots fired, a statement said, police located evidence of a crime scene, as well as the victim with a non-fatal gunshot wound.
