PATERSON, NJ - A 23-year-old Paterson man was shot while behind the wheel of his car in the area of East 23rd Street and 14th Avenue on Thursday.

According to Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes and Paterson Police Chief Ibrahim Baycora, members of the Paterson Police Department were dispatched to the scene at approximately 7:50 p.m. on a report of a shooting.

Upon arriving officers located the victim who sped away after being shot by but crashed into multiple motor vehicles before coming to a stop in front of Paterson School 13. The victim was transported to Saint Joseph’s University Medical Center for treatment.
