PATERSON, NJ - A 22-year-old Paterson man is dead after being shot while driving in the area of East 21st Street and 21st Avenue Thursday.
According to Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes and Paterson Police Chief Ibrahim Baycora, members of the Paterson Police Department were dispatched to the area at approximately 7:34 p.m. on a report of shots fired.
Upon their arrival, officers located a Jeep Cherokee with several bullet holes which had struck another vehicle on East 21st Street. Officers discovered a victim, Stevens Origene, seated in the driver’s seat of the Jeep with apparent gunshot wounds. Origene was transported to Saint Joseph’s University Medical Center by Paterson Fire Department EMS where he was pronounced deceased.
A short time later, the Paterson Police Department was notified that a second victim, an 18-year-old male from Paterson, was being treated at Hackensack University Medical Center in after arriving in a private vehicle with a gunshot wound.
