PATERSON, NJ- Paterson’s effort to crackdown on illegal fireworks is making an impact, Mayor Andre Sayegh told TAPinto Paterson Tuesday.

Saying that he personally took to the streets over the weekend with Public Safety Director Jerry Speziale and Police Chief Ibrahim “Mike” Baycora, Sayegh added that the push, which is being driven by a special detail of the Paterson Police Department, will continue this weekend.

Confirming the issuance of more than 200 summonses, Sayegh concluded that “we will not stand for anyone putting the safety or lives of our residents in danger, and won’t let up until our streets and skies are free of illegal fireworks.”
