PATERSON, NJ - A Friday shooting that sent a 26-year-old Paterson man to the hospital with gunshot wounds is under investigation, according to Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes and Paterson Police Chief Ibrahim Baycora.

In a statement, the law enforcement officials said that the incident took place at approximately 8:36 p.m. in the area of Hopper Street. Members of the Paterson Police Department responded to the area on a report of shots fired and, once on scene, located the victim who had sustained a non-fatal gunshot wound. 

The victim was immediately transported to Saint Joseph’s Regional Medical Center in Paterson by Paterson Fire Department EMS for treatment.
