PATERSON, NJ - A 21-year-old Paterson said to be employing two minors to help sell illegal drugs was arrested Monday, police have announced.

According to Paterson Public Safety Director Jerry Speziale the operation was brought to a halt when members of the Paterson Police Department’s Narcotics Division conducted an investigation in the area of Main Street and Grove Street, and, at approximately 7:00 p.m., observed Adam Omar standing in front of 1029 Main Street.

Detectives are said to have recognized the suspect from a previous arrest and continued to surveil the area when, approximately five minutes later, Omar was observed handing several small items to a 17-year old male.

Believing he distributed narcotics, detectives approached Omar, as well the juvenile and a second male, said to be 16.

While Omar is said to have directed the youth to flee all three were detained by detectives and all three were to be found in possession of marijuana.

All three were transported to Paterson Police headquarters for processing.
