PATERSON, NJ - Law enforcement officials have released the names and photos of two suspects wanted in connection with the May 27 shooting death of Brian Olivio, 20 Paterson. A third suspect, John Delacruz, 22, Paterson, was previously arrested for his role in the incident that took place in the area of 73 Hospital Plaza.
As previously reported, the shooting took place at approximately 5:38 p.m. leaving Olivio dead, and second man, David Torres, 20, with a gunshot wound.
In a statement, Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes and Paterson Police Chief Ibrahim Baycora further announced that an investigation into the incident determined that a black sedan being driven by Delacruz pulled up near the victims who were standing together outside 73 Hospital Plaza, at which time the suspects still at large, Wilfredo Garcia and Modino Garcia, exited the black sedan and attacked the victims by physically assaulting them. During the attack the suspects opened fire striking both of the victims.
Immediately after the shooting, Wilfredo Garcia and Modino Garcia got back into the vehicle being driven by Delacruz and they all fled from the scene. Delacruz was arrested on May 31. Wilfredo Garcia and Modino Garcia should be considered armed and dangerous.
