PATERSON, NJ- A 25-year-old Paterson man was shot and killed in the early hours of Tuesday.

According to a statement by Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes and Paterson Police Chief Troy Oswald police responded to a call of shots fired at 700 East 28th Street at approximately 1:08 a.m. 

Upon their arrival, officers located the victim, Patrick Brown, lying in the street near his car which was parked on the side of the road.

Brown was reported to have obvious gunshot wounds and was transported to St. Joseph’s University Medical Center by Paterson Fire Department EMS where he was pronounced deceased at 1:17 a.m.

The investigation remains active and ongoing.
