PATERSON, NJ - Two Paterson residents were shot in the early hours of Monday, one fatally, according to law enforcement officials.

In a statement, Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes and Paterson Police Chief Ibrahim Baycora announced that police officers responded to a residence located at 20 12th Avenue at approximately 12:09 a.m. following a report of shots fired.

Upon arrival, officers discovered Salomon Bens Bertha, 23, and Robinson Guzman, 20 who had both suffered apparent gunshot wounds. Guzman was transported to St. Joseph’s University Medical Center in Paterson where he was treated and released while Bens Bertha was pronounced deceased at the scene.
