PATERSON, NJ - An investigation is ongoing into an overnight shooting that sent two men to the hospital early Tuesday, Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes and Paterson Police Chief Ibrahim Baycora have announced.

According to the law enforcement officials members of the Paterson Police Department responded to the area of 16th Avenue and East 18th Street at approximately 12:48 a.m. on a report of shots fired.

Upon arrival police located a 26-year-old male Paterson resident who sustained a non-fatal gunshot wound. The victim was immediately transported to Saint Joseph’s University Medical Center for treatment.

While on scene the police were advised that a 33-year-old male Paterson resident arrived at the hospital also seeking treatment for seeking treatment non-fatal gunshot wounds he sustained in the same area.
