PATERSON, NJ - A 34-year-old Paterson man arrived at Saint Joseph’s Regional Medical Center in Paterson seeking treatment for a non-fatal gunshot wound overnight, touching off an investigation into his shooting, authorities have said.

According to Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes and Paterson Police Chief Troy Oswald, a preliminary investigation reveals that shooting took place in the area of 12th Avenue and East 24th Street.

The shooting took place less than 36 hours after a man was shot and killed, and another injured, just blocks from Eastside High School.
