PATERSON, NJ - The weekend got off to a violent start Saturday with a shooting that sent a 25-year-old Paterson man to Saint Joseph’s Regional Medical Center for the treatment of two non-fatal gunshot wounds.

According to Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes and Paterson Police Chief Ibrahim Baycora, members of the Paterson Police Department were dispatched to the area of East 24th Street and 14th Avenue at approximately 3:26 a.m. on a report of shots fired.

Upon arrival responding officers located a potential crime scene, but were unable to locate a victim. A short time later police arrived to the area of 21st Street and Madison Avenue where they located the wounded man who was immediately transported to Saint Joseph’s Regional Medical Center by Paterson Fire Department EMS.
