PATERSON, NJ - “A major operation was put out of business,” Paterson Public Safety Director Jerry Speziale said of a Tuesday police operation that led to three arrests and the seizure of more than 16,000 glassines of heroin.

In a statement Speziale said that detectives observed a suspect, identified as Jeramy Lazano, 29, leave the first floor apartment at 489 E. 18th Street and proceed to an area where he met a second suspect, identified as James Saunders, 51, Saylorsburg, Pennsylvania. At this point, the report states, the two men conducted a drugs transaction before Saunders left the area in a vehicle.

A short while later members of the Paterson Police Department conducted a motor vehicle stop which resulted in the seizure of 6,000 glassines of heroin.

Members of the Paterson Narcotics Division also raided the home which resulted in the seizure of an additional 10,150 glassines envelopes of heroin, 24 baggies of crack cocaine, and drug paraphernalia.

$10060.00 was confiscated as drug proceeds as a result of this investigation. 

Also arrested was Deserie Silva, 25, Paterson. 

All three suspects have been charged with various crimes related to the possession of, and intent to distribute, the drugs.
