PATERSON, NJ - A 19-year-old Sayreville man was arrested Tuesday after Detectives J. Farfan and M. Bashir reported finding him in possession of a loaded semi-automatic weapon.

According to Public Safety Director Jerry Speziale, the detectives responded to a call of an armed man in the area of 16th Avenue and Summer Street at approximately 10:20 p.m. While they reported seeing no one matching the description at that location, they did observe the suspect sitting on the steps of a Pearl Street residence.

The Detectives immediately exited their vehicles, and as a result of their investigation, recovered the gun from the suspect, identified as Evan Blozen. Blozen was taken into custody without incident, and was transported to police headquarters for processing. The recovered firearm will be submitted to the New Jersey State Police Ballistics Laboratory for further examination.
