PATERSON, NJ - A second overnight shooting sent a 34-year-old Paterson man to Saint Joseph’s Health Wayne Medical Center for treatment of a non-fatal gunshot wound early Sunday, law enforcement officials have reported.

Earlier on Sunday the same officials announced that another 34-year-old man was shot in the area of Carroll Street at approximately 9:40 p.m.

The second incident is said to have taken place in the area of East 23rd Street at approximately 1:25 a.m. where, according to Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes and Paterson Police Chief Ibrahim Baycora, responding officers found evidence of a crime scene before being advised that the victim had arrived at the Wayne facility.

Both incidents are under investigation.
