PATERSON, NJ - Investigations have been launched into separate shootings that sent two men to Saint Joseph’s Regional Medical Center Saturday.
According to Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes and Paterson Police Chief Ibrahim Baycora, members of the Paterson Police Department were dispatched to the hospital at approximately 10:30 p.m. on a report that a 41-year-old Kenilworth man had arrived seeking treatment for a non-fatal gunshot wound.
Based on the initial investigation it is believed the shooting took place in the area of 9th Avenue and East 28th Street.
Just 20 minutes later, a second statement announced, members of the Paterson Police Department were dispatched to the area of 12th Avenue between Auburn and Carroll Street on a report of shots fired.
Upon arrival responding officers located a potential crime scene, but were unable to locate a victim. A short time later law enforcement officials were advised that a 19-year-old male Paterson resident had also arrived at St. Joseph’s seeking treatment for a non-fatal gunshot wound.
