PATERSON, NJ - A series of undercover operations led to 14 arrests on Thursday, according to Paterson Public Safety Director Jerry Speziale.
In a statement Speziale reported that the first five arrests came at 11:55 a.m. in the area of Cliff Street and North 4th Street. Enrique R. Garcia, 26, was arrested for the possession and intent to distribute four baggies of marijuana while Hector L. Cruz, 50, and Luis A. Campbell, 27, were both charged with various crimes related to the possession, sale, and intent to distribute 186 glassines of heroin and two baggies of crack cocaine.
Also arrested were Daniel T. Shaw, 56, and AnnMarie Hughes, 35, both of Franklin, who had allegedly purchased 26 glassines of heroin.
Less than two hours later Paterson police officers arrested Jovan Hill, 20, and Prince J. Block, 23, both of Paterson, in the area of 16th Avenue and Carroll Street for their possession, and intent to distribute, 18 baggies of suspected marijuana.
The final narcotics raid of the day took place at 4:20 p.m. and included seven arrests. Charged with various crimes including the possession of, and intent to distribute 40 glassines of heroin, 19 grams of crack cocaine, and 44 grams of marijuana were Javis Porter, 26, Najee Tabor, 27, Khadir M. Lindsey, 23, Ervin D. Porter, 38, Zakee Harrison, 34, Javis Porter, 25, and Bryan Vargas, 19.
A total of $9,211 was confiscated in the three operations.
