PATERSON, NJ - Two men were shot, one fatally, outside of 378 Rosa Parks Boulevard on Friday.

According to Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes and Paterson Police Chief Troy Oswald, police officers responded to the area on a report of shots fired at approximately 4:58 p.m.

Upon arrival, the report stated, police found Sadott Free, 22, with apparent gunshot wounds. While Free was transported to St. Joseph’s University Medical Center by Paterson Fire Department EMS he was pronounced deceased.

A second victim, Quadir McRae, 24, was transported to the hospital by a private vehicle before first responders arrived. McRae is said to have arrived in stable condition.
