PATERSON, NJ- OSHA investigators are investigating the death of a 56-year old Woodland Park man in a construction accident at 138 Michigan Avenue in Paterson on Tuesday.

According to a statement by Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes and Paterson Police Chief Troy Oswald, police responded to the address at approximately 9:18 a.m. in response to a reported construction accident.  Upon their arrival, first responders located the victim, Joseph Perillo, outside of the location with serious injuries.

The investigation determined that Perillo had been working on the roof and had fallen off the building into an empty dumpster. Perillo was transported to St. Joseph’s University Medical Center by Paterson Fire Department EMS where he was later pronounced deceased.

While the investigation remains active and ongoing there is no evidence of foul play and no criminal charges have been filed.
