PATERSON, NJ - The Paterson City Council is expected to approve a resolution Tuesday to rename the Bauerle Fieldhouse in honor of Dr. Gerald Eugene Glisson.

Glisson, who served in several roles in the Paterson Public Schools District, most recently as Principal of Operation of the Eastside High School, passed away on May 3 after a battle with COVID-19.

“Dr. Glisson was a man of distinction who was passionate about imparting knowledge and wisdom to the next generation and beyond,” a statement from City Council Vice President Dr. Lillisa Mimms read, adding that his love for youth was “undeniable.”
