PATERSON, NJ - The Philadelphia Kings travelled up the New Jersey Turnpike Saturday to take on the Silk City Sharks.

From the first series of the game, the Sharks defense showed they weren’t going to be disrespected on their home turf and held the visitors to just six points in the game.

The Sharks were first to get on the scoreboard when quarterback Rashon Ison connected with John Burton on a long pass into the endzone in the second quarter, and while the Kings answered with their own six soon after, the score stayed deadlocked through halftime.

While tension and passion mounted on the Sharks sidelines, players showing their desire to get on the field to bring the win home one, one Shark, Jason Patterson, offered this reporter a fist bump and a confident declaration  that “we will win.”

With the Sharks defense continuing to give the opposing players a hard time Ison connected with Dekyri Mimms twice, one for 58 yards and one for 68 yards, the pair offering speed and accuracy that was just too much for the players lined up against them.

The Sharks, now 4-0 on the season, head to Irvington Saturday to take on the New Jersey Knights.
