Kennedy and Eastside Boys Advance to Semifinals

PATERSON, NJ - Top-seeded Eastside edged Hawthone Christian Academy, 48-43, Monday night to move into the semifinals of the Passaic County boys basketball tournament. Meanwhile, Kennedy also made the semifinals by beating Wayne Valley, 72-57.

Eastside will face fourth-seeded Passaic in  the noon semifinal on Saturday at Kennedy's gym. Passaic made it to the final four by beating Passaic Tech on a three-pointer at the buzzer, 54-51.

Kennedy, the third seed, will play second-seeded DePaul Catholic at 2 pm at Kennedy. DePaul knocked off Passaic Valley in the quarterfinals.

PATERSON, N.J. - The Green Acres Program has purchased an 8.5 acre tract of land adjacent to the Paterson Great Falls National Historical Park. The site, which was once proposed for a housing development, is on a ridge 100 feet above the Passaic River.
