PISCATAWAY, NJ — Sadly, Middlesex County health officials reported two new deaths on Friday, increasing the death toll total to 51 for Piscataway since the start of the pandemic in March.
27 new positive COVID-19 cases were reported in the last 24 hours, bringing the total cumulative cases to 2,968 since the start of the pandemic, according to Middlesex County health officials. No additional information regarding the new cases was provided.
According to covid19.nj.gov, Middlesex County reported 556 new confirmed cases on Friday, increasing the total to 48,776 positive cases with a total of 1,529 confirmed deaths.
The New Jersey Department of Health on Friday reported a total of 516,608 positive cases of the coronavirus since the pandemic began its spread in the state 305 days ago, an increase of 5,859 overnight. The death toll in New Jersey increased by 110 overnight for a total of 17,697 deaths. There have been 8,060,903 COVID-19 tests administered in New Jersey.
