PISCATAWAY, NJ — Piscataway saw an increase of 41 new COVID-19 cases in the last 24 hours, bringing the total to 1,744 since the start of the pandemic, according to Middlesex County health officials. No additional information about the new cases was provided. The reported death toll remains at 40 for the township.

According to covid19.nj.gov, Middlesex County reported 463 new positive cases in the last 24 hours, bringing the total to 26,818 positive cases with 1,276 deaths since the pandemic began in March.

The New Jersey Department of Health on Tuesday reported a total of 313,863 positive cases of the coronavirus since the pandemic began its spread in the state 262 days ago, an increase of 4,275 overnight.  There was an increase of 47 deaths overnight, bringing the state total to 15,007.

There have been 5,725,579 COVID-19 tests administered in New Jersey.
