PISCATAWAY, NJ – The Arbor Rescue Squad in Piscataway is the third-oldest rescue squad in New Jersey and the first one established in Middlesex County.
The Arbor Rescue Squad is run by volunteers and is a basic life support (BLS) organization dispatched through the Piscataway Police Department Communications Center. They have been in operation since April 1931 after a young brother and sister drowned near what is now New Market Pond.
In a Facebook post on Monday, the Arbor Rescue Squad announced that it needs "volunteers to keep providing the tradition of emergency life saving work." The squad also wants the community to know “there are new and improved membership requirements.”
