SOMERSET, NJ - Over 70 employers and 350-plus job seekers gathered at The Imperia for Assemblyman Joe Danielsen's and the Middlesex County Regional Chamber of Commerce's third annual job fair.

This year's job fair was the biggest to date, and Danielsen attributes that to the outreach efforts set forth by him and his team.

"We changed our strategy, we put much more time and effort into advertising and marketing to people looking for jobs," Danielsen said. "We went to all the churches, civic groups, colleges, and used social media as well."

One of the biggest draws was DeVry Universities Career Services' table, where attendees received free resume critiques, and in some cases, the team even helped with major revisions.

The focus for the job fair was not only to bring people to employers to find out about potential roles but to also make sure they are prepared to present themselves in the best light possible.

"This event had two sides to it," Danielsen said. "Side one, we held three workshops - resume writing, interviewing techniques and dressing for success, and the other side was the corporate floor where people could meet companies that are currently looking for people or preparing to hire people, and there is where the value is."

Mayor Phillip Kramer, Councilwoman Rozalyn Sherman (Ward-2), Councilman Charles Onyejiaka (Ward-3), and Councilman James Vassanella (Ward-5) also came out to show support for the community.
