EAST BRUNSWICK, NJ - It was a big game for the Bears not only because it was Senior Day, but also because they were going up against a divisional opponent, the Piscataway Chiefs. East Brunswick had a great team effort  resulting in a 60-53 victory over Piscataway. 

The first quarter was close but the Bears were able to possess a one point lead heading into the second quarter. The Bears had eight different players that scored points, including great performances from the bench players. East Brunswick juniors, Mitchell Pingoy and Ryan Crocco had solid games. Pingoy finished with 8 points, while Crocco had 6 points. 

Going into the second quarter EB was leading 12-11. The offense came alive in the second quarter as the Bears outscored the Chiefs 20-11. EB was lead by junior, Joe Sampson and senior, Ezra Levitt. On senior day, Ezra Levitt had a great game knocking down four three pointers accounting for 12 of East Brunswick’s points.

EB had a 32-22 lead entering the third quarter and Bears continued to pad onto that lead. East Brunswick outscored Piscataway again, 17-14. Despite the Chiefs having more free throw attempts than the Bears, EB was able to maintain their lead for the whole game. EB junior, Joe Sampson also finished with 12 points with two three pointers and a couple of free throws. 

The Bears had a 13 point lead entering the final quarter but the Chiefs were determined to make a comeback. Piscataway had three different players with double digit points but it wasn’t enough to complete the comeback. The Chiefs put up a good fight as they outscored the Bears 17-11 in the fourth but East Brunswick held on. EB won a big game against Piscataway on senior day, 60-53.
